Whole Community Meditation, Findhorn Ecovillage Community

I recently re-joined the Whole Community Meditation group. Here are some reflections on how it started and my thoughts on its purpose.

How the Whole Community Meditation (WCM) started.
There have been many community meditations in several shapes and forms. The impulse for the current WCM started after a 2-day workshop on Connecting with the Angel of Findhorn with Michael Lindfield in 2018. During this powerful and inspiring event, we engaged with the energetic subtle field of our Community. Many people expressed a heartfelt wish to have a regular Community meditation. A group was formed to set something up, and we created the current format. This was grounded over the next several years. I needed to leave the organising group since I had other commitments. Recent conversations made me think of the purpose of the WCM.

The purpose and content of the Whole Community Meditation
The potential is to hold a group meditation on behalf of the collective and to bring the personal and the divine together in ourselves as a service to our community.
  1. Relax and connect with our Inner Source. Being grounded and present while the music is played, we can connect with our inner source, that place through which we connect with the whole, in whatever form we do that best. It is the essence that matters, connecting with the divine in ourselves.
  2. Connect with the Divine in each other. We then connect with that divine space in each other. We can do this in the Universal Hall, include those on Zoom, and create a cohesive field.
  3. Connect with the energetic field of our Community. From this space, we consciously connect with the energetic field of our Community. We often use the concept of the Angel of Findhorn, the being created by the people, projects, aims and all involvements over the past six decades. It can also include the Landscape Angel, often described as the being or energy field of the land we live on.
  4. Silence to deepen and strengthen these connections. We can confirm our presence as a service, being open to any guidance. This is where the actual work is taking place. A time of listening, openness, and welcoming the unknown. SILENCE.
  5. Sending out positive energy to people and places where this is needed. We bless all the projects, relationships, people, organisations, plans, aims, visions and the land we live on, bringing hope and inspiration into our world.

Conclusion

These are just my words, like a finger pointing to the moon. I hope this inspires your meditation. My gratitude to all those who made this meditation happen over the years!
